Nature lovers will enjoy the historical Knockreer House and Gardens for its beautiful fauna and flora, a short stroll across from the Cathedral in Killarney. Nowhere excites the visitors eye like Killarney, so aptly described as the 'Eden of the West.'

Situated some 28km from Killarney, Crag cave is an ancient fossil Cave system, formed of limestone. It is a colourful wonderland of stalagmites and stalactites with dramatic sound and lighting effects. It was discovered in 1983 and is thought to be over one million years old. With a large restaurant and souvenir gift shop, it is open from mid-March to November.
Fota Wildlife ParkGiraffes, zebras, ostrich and antelope roam together in 40 acres of grassland, much as they would in the African Savannah. Monkeys swing through trees on the lakes, and kangaroos, macaws and lemurs have complete freedom of the Park. Only the Cheetahs have a conventional fence.
Facilities at Fota Wildlife Park include Playgrounds, Bisto Wildlife Train, Picnic & Rest Areas, Serengeti Gift Shop and Oasis Restaurannt.
Coolwood Wildlife Sanctuary
Coolwood is situated on the outskirts of Killarney town, on a 47 acre complex. 7 acres of it is a wildlife park and the remaining acres are a wildlife sanctuary. It is an interesting place to visit for the visitor who is into nature, birds, animals, pets, walks etc. Heavily wooded, it is the stronghold of the Red Squirrel, and has a well established Rookery. It is also home to the rare Golden Eagle.
