The Ring of Kerry is one of the most renowned scenic drives in Ireland. You can either join a scheduled daily tour or drive your own car, taking in the most impressive landscapes and spectacular atlantic coastal scenery surrounding our beautiful county. The route includes the lovely coastal villages of Glenbeigh, Waterville, Sneem, Kenmare and the thriving market towns of Killorglin and Caherciveen. 

The Ring embraces many points of historic and archaeological interest such as Caherciveen Heritage Centre, the Skellig Experience on Valentia Island, Derrynane House, prehistoric Staigue Fort and Kenmare Heritage. Overall it is 166 kms and best toured anti-clockwise. Allow 5 to 7 hour depending on the amount of exploring you wish to do.

It is impossible to visit the Dingle Peninsula and not be impressed by its beauty and archaeological heritage. The landscape is dotted with ancient historic sites and early Christian dwellings such as Gallorus Oratory, Beehive huts, early christian monks dwellings, and the Blasket Islands Interpretative Centre. Each site is rich in folklore and mythology, which have been passed from generation to generation through the Irish language. 

Slea Head is Europe's most westerly point and the outlying Blasket Islands are known locally as the 'next parish to America'. Boat trips operate daily from Dingle and Dunquin to the wild  and beautiful islands which was home to many famous writers and poets. The tours pass Miltown and Castlemaine before arriving at the beautiful fishing harbour town of Dingle, home of Dingle Oceanworld and Ireland’s famous dolphin - ”Fungi' The duration of the tour is approximately 6 hours, travelling 211kms, best toured clockwise.

The Beara Penninsula is the wildest and most romantic of the peninsulas in the south west. The mountains and valleys are rich in archaeological sites such as stone circles, wedge graves and other relics from the past. There are scenic lakes cradled by gorgeous mountains and a rugged coastline with lots of great fishing spots.  

The Ring of Beara is a scenic driving coastal route approximately 230 kms, stretching from Glengarriff to Dursey and back to Kenmare & Killarney, encompassing picturesque villages and towns, enchanting islands, unspoilt and unique scenery and historical antiquities.

Beara is an area of great scenic beauty. The principal villages and towns in Beara are Allihies, Ardgroom, Castletownbere, Eyeries and Glengarriff. You will pass through the Healy Pass, see Dursey Island and many archaeological sites.

This is the most varied and exciting tour in Ireland, taking 5 to 6 hours to complete. 

The day begins with a short coach ride to Kate Kearney's Cottage where, after partaking of suitable refreshments, the visitor then travels through the 10kms Gap of Dunloe mountain pass on horseback, horse drawn trap, on foot or cycle if so desired, to Lord Brandon's Cottage on the shore of the Upper Lake.

After refreshments at the cottage, complete the journey of the three lakes by traditional open boat, through the Long Range to the Meeting of the Waters. Here shoot the rapids and onto the Lower Lake and arriving at the 15th century Ross Castle, where your coach awaits to return you to Killarney and the comfort of the hotel.

The Skellig Islands stand aloof in the Atlantic Ocean some 12 km southwest of Valentia Island. Skellig Michael is known throughout the world of archaeology as the site of a well-preserved monastic outpost of the Early Christian period – now designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The nearby Small Skellig is equally renowned in matters of ornithology as the home of some 27,000 pairs of gannets – the second largest colony of such seabirds in the world.

The tour provides insight into the lives of the Skellig monks of the early Christian period, their activities, their endurance and their dedication in gaining a foothold on a tiny, inhospitable, offshore island and creating a community there that survived for some 600 years.

The beauty of Killarney has been the inspiration of poets, scholars and painters for many centuries. Its natural aspects and clean environment is unchanged since it was traversed by many literary greats including Tennyson and Wordsworth and Macauly.
